I want to know what is the C-PLA?

C-PLA is the short name for Crystalline Polylactic Acid. PLA is a kind of crystalline polymer. The high-temperature resistance is achieved due to the ordered queuing of molecular chains after crystallization, but it is at the cost of transparency.

How is your PLA biodegradation rate?

The degradability of PLA is absolutely, so there is no such concept as biodegradation rate. The so-called biodegradation rate is the degree of biological degradation under certain standards within a certain time.

For example, under the GB/T20197 standard of China, the degradation rate of PLA in 105 days is 81.4%, but this does not mean that the remaining 18.6% is not biodegradable, but that part needs some more time to be degraded, so finally it is still 100% biodegradable.

For the other example, under the European EN13432 standard, the PLA degradation rate in 147 days is 99%, which also does not mean that the remaining 1% is non-biodegradable plastics, but needs some more time to get degraded.

HISUN claims to be the only manufacturer engaged in the industrial production of PLA in China, but why there are many companies in the Chinese market claiming that they are able to supply large quantities of PLA pellets?

On the way of industrialization of PLA, HISUN is indeed in the forefront. However, we can not deny the efforts that other enterprises have made in pursuing industrial production of PLA. We believe that in the near future there will be a number of enterprises in China can supply large quantities of PLA with high quality.

However, in some areas with flourishing trade, some unscrupulous traders, after making simple granulation on imported PLA scraps, claim themselves as PLA manufacturers with oversea background, to which users must pay special attention to!

The method of identification is as follows: PLA new materials are milky white semi-translucent crystalline pellets without black spots; PLA recirculating scraps are some dark yellow transparent pellets achieved through screw granulation, which have many black spots.

Is it possible to produce PLA films by using PE cast film production lines?

Yes, it is possible, but generally the thickness is required to be between 50 and 150 microns. In addition, in order to ensure the tear strength and tensile strength of PLA cast films, it needs to implement toughening modification on PLA.

Can your PLA serves as biodegradable plastic mesh for soil fixation, slope protection and grass cultivation?

Why material liquidity increases, finished products become brittle, finished products' surface has bubbles, on the mold surface appears white steaks when injection molding?

These phenomena are caused by the water absorbence and degradation of the material while using. It is recommended to have it dried with desiccant device before use.

Do you have agents in South of China?

We have not implemented the agency policy yet.

I want to know whether your company is going to expand production capacity in 2008?

Our company has been in the process of expanding production capacity, but the production capacity in 2008 can only be maintained at less than 5,000 tons; in March 2009, the annual output will be expanded to 10,000 tons/a.

We want to do some modification on PLA, but it's still in the initial stage. I wonder whether your company has small-package products for sale or could you provide samples for trial.

Our products are mainly 700KG large packaged products, while the 25KG small-package ones are limited.

Does your company supply PLA with high temperature resistance? How much?

Has HISUN's PLA passed the FDA certification?

Our products have registered at the U.S. FDA and the certification work is already underway; the result is expected to be revealed in early 2009.

Does your company supply PLA shrink films?

Our company is a specialized supplier of resins and our PLA resin can be used in the production of shrink films.

Can PLA injection-mold bulky products (3mm thick, 60cm long)? How is the surface finish of the injection molded products?

Injection molded products have excellent surface finish, which is a big advantage of PLA. We recommend the maximum injection thickness of 4mm.

Can you introduce your biodegradable PLA resin, better with the conditions and time cycle?

Based on the IDT ISO14855: 1999, biodegradation rate in 76 days is 75.6%

What is the minimum operating temperature of PLA?

The -40 ℃ experimental environment have little impact on PLA products; therefore, generally, the low temperature conditions have little effect on product performance.

How is the continuity of the actual processing of PLA plastic products?

In the production and processing, you may encounter many problems that affect their continuity, but as long as you set the appropriate parameters, and process in accordance with our company's processing instructions, normally there will be no more big problems in continuity.

Will PLA degrade under normal use, and if so will it affect the life of the product?

PLA can be made into different products, and their lives vary with different products. PLA itself is a biodegradable material, but in general within the prescribed period, it will not affect the usability.

How is the rheological property of PLA?

Why does PLA become brittle in the production process?

The water content of resin is too high, and the resin should be dried again, and keep the water content of resin lower than 150PPM.

Can PLA be used to make films?

Yes, it can, but the tear performance of PLA film is inferior to that of traditional petroleum-based plastic film.

Is HISUN's PLA granular?

PLA of HISUN Biomaterials are small cylindrical pellets with diameters between 2-4 mm.

Can your PLA be used in the production of fresh keeping film; are they resistant to high temperature? Can they be placed in microwave oven?

Our polylactic acids cannot be used to produce fresh keeping film, and neither the pure PLA can resistant to high temperature nor microwavable.
